Meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Deputy Secretary of State of the United States

On 22 September 2025, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of the development of bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United States.

The interlocutors emphasized that the development of economic partnership is a key vector of bilateral cooperation, highlighting the importance of cooperation in the investment and technological spheres.

The role of the Turkmen-American Business Council, which brings together leading US companies and promotes the expansion of business contacts, was empasized.

The sides also discussed a number of matters regarding the international and regional agenda that possess mutual interest.
