In accordance with the Decrees of the President of Turkmenistan No. 2300 dated 01.07.2021 and No. 77 dated 28.04.2022, the validity period of e-passports of citizens of Turkmenistan, temporarily staying or permanently residing in foreign countries, expired or expiring from 01 January 2020 to 30 December 2024, have been extended until 31 December 2024.

In this regard, upon application of citizens of Turkmenistan, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Federal Republic of Germany places a QR code and a note on the extension of the passport (until 31.12.2024) in biometric data passports - e-passports.

In order to extend the validity of passports, the following documents must be submitted:

1. An application to the Consular Section of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Federal Republic of Germany in electronic form (on a USB drive/flash drive) and in printed form according to the sample.

2. A questionnaire in Microsoft Word format in electronic form (on a USB drive/flash drive) and in printed form according to the sample. In the questionnaire it is necessary to indicate the name and surname in Latin letters as in the passport.

3. A copy of the first page of your foreign passport;

4. One 3x4 color photo in electronic form (on a USB stick/flash drive in jpg format) and in printed form.

A mark on the extension of the validity of the foreign passport is free of charge.

NOTE:

The validity period of biometric passports of the citizens of Turkmenistan has been extended only until 31.12.2024. Further extension - issuance of a new biometric passport of a citizen of Turkmenistan is carried out only on the territory of Turkmenistan at the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan.
The Embassy does not issue a new biometric passport. In this regard, before the expiry date of his/her biometric passport, a citizen of Turkmenistan who is abroad should travel to Turkmenistan and submit documents for obtaining a new passport at the Migration Service in Turkmenistan, as the biometric data must be submitted personally by the applicant.

On the website (https://migration.gov.tm/pages/pasport-perecen) of the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan, there is a List of documents required for the issuance of a Turkmen passport with biometric data.
