The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan was received by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On February 4, 2025, during his visit to Astana, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov was received by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Expressing gratitude for the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs conveyed to the President of Kazakhstan warm greetings of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The Head of Kazakhstan expressed gratitude and warm greetings to the leadership of Turkmenistan, and congratulated the country on the beginning of the International Year of Peace and Trust, emphasizing the significance of the 30th anniversary of neutrality of Turkmenistan.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highly appraised the level of development of Kazakh-Turkmen ties in all vectors in the spirit of friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership.  He also noted that Kazakhstan aims to continue rendering further strong support in the implementation of international initiatives of Turkmenistan. 

The sides exchanged views on the further development of political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation between the two countries, as well as discussed the implementation of previously reached agreements, including in the field of energy and transport.
