Reception of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Germany

On November 5, 2018 at the “Maritim” hotel Berlin took place an official reception on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of Independence Day of Turkmenistan, as well as on holding the year 2018 under the motto “Turkmenistan is the heart of the Great Silk Road”.
Representatives of the Federal Chancellery, the Federal Foreign Office, members of the German federal parliament “Bundestag”, representatives of the federal agencies and organizations, heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the Federal Republic of Germany, representatives of academia of Germany, representatives of the German public organizations and companies, Turkmen diaspora and Turkmen students studying in Berlin took part in this festive event.
The Ambassador of Turkmenistan in the Federal Republic of Germany, H.E. Mr.T.Atayev and Director for Eastern Europe, Southern Caucasus and Central Asia of the Federal Foreign Office Mr.Michael Sieibert addressed the guests the welcome speech at the beginning of the event.
The main guidelines of political and diplomatic cooperation, including the collaboration in the framework of the international organizations between our countries were noted during these speeches. The guests were given insights into the large international sport events held in Turkmenistan including ‘Amul-Khazar 2018’ car rally and the World Weightlifting Championship.
In addition, while speaking about trade and economic development between Turkmenistan and Germany, the parties noted the following important mechanisms and their role in this respect – Turkmen-German working group on economic cooperation, Days of the German economy in Turkmenistan, Days of the Turkmen economy in Germany, as well as business-forums and international economic activities held in both countries. The guests were briefed on a large-scale regional projects implemented in Turkmenistan within which were emphasized priority and perspective directions for further expansion of trade and economic cooperation.
Noting that the humanitarian cooperation is one the main spheres of Turkmen-German relations, as well as maintaining of regular contacts in the field of culture by means of organization of joint activities to familiarize Turkmen and German peoples with historical and cultural heritage of both countries, there was also emphasized the importance of archaeological exhibition “Margiana – the Kingdom of the Bronze Age in Turkmenistan”, which is currently has been carried out at the Archaeological Museum in Hamburg.
The sides unanimously underlined the success of the exhibition presented in the New Museum of Berlin from April to September 2018, which gathered in such a short period of time 385 thousand visitors. The speakers expressed their confidence that this exhibition would be successful enough and continue gaining hearts of visitors and art lovers in further course of exhibiting at the Archaeological Museum in Hamburg, and then at the Reiss-Engelhorn-Museem in Mannheim
Upon completion of the speeches the guests had a pleasure to enjoy a concert program prepared by the Turkmen masters of the arts that attracted particular interest of the participants of event.
