Ceremony of awarding state honours was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan

On 20 September 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a solemn ceremony to award staff members of the national diplomatic service with medals ‘For Love of the Motherland’.

Addressing the participants of the ceremony, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov noted the significance of the events taking place in Turkmenistan ahead of the celebration of the 34th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan.

Special emphasis was placed on the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty (People’s Council) of Turkmenistan, held the day before in Ashgabat under the chairmanship of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.  The agenda of the meeting included contemporary issues of state life and socio-economic development of the regions and the capital.

The meeting also emphasised the importance of the successful implementation of the country’s foreign policy. In this context, R. Meredov noted that the diplomatic service of Turkmenistan faces important tasks, which are reflected in the Priority Positions of Turkmenistan at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Then, R. Meredov read the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan on bestowing state awards in honour of the 34th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan and officially presented the employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with medals ‘For Love of the Motherland’.
