About the meeting of Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the “Central Asia – China” format

On May 24, 2025, a meeting of the Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the “Central Asia-China” format was held in Beijing. The Turkmen side was represented by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov.

The agenda of the meeting included discussion of preparations for the second Summit of the Heads of State of the “Central Asia – China” format, scheduled to be held in June of current year in Astana.

The Deputy Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan and the People’s Republic of China shared their proposals on the preliminary agenda of the upcoming Summit and viewed the drafts of joint outcome documents.

According to the participants, the next Summit will be an important event reflecting the increasing role of the “Central Asia – China” format as an open and constructive mechanism of interstate cooperation aimed at ensuring sustainable development, peace and security in the region.
