The President of Turkmenistan took part in the celebrations held in Moscow in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory

On May 9, 2025, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov left for a working visit to the Russian Federation, where, at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, he took part in the celebrations in honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, held in Moscow.

At the Vnukovo-2 International Airport, the head of Turkmenistan was met by officials. Here, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was presented with copies of the Pravda and Sowet Türkmenistany newspapers published on special paper in 1945. These historical issues of printed publications were presented to the head of state as a gift.

The presidential motorcade then proceeded to the Moscow Kremlin. Here, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was warmly greeted by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The heads of the two states exchanged friendly handshakes, and then they posed for a joint commemorative photo.

From the Kremlin, the President of Turkmenistan, together with distinguished guests – heads of delegations from the CIS countries and other foreign states who arrived in Moscow to participate in the festive events, proceeded to the Central Tribune on Red Square.

To the sound of the chimes on the Spasskaya Tower of the Moscow Kremlin, at exactly 10:00 a.m. the Victory Parade begins on Red Square.

The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin addressed the war veterans and participants of the celebration with a welcoming speech, warmly congratulating everyone on the glorious 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.

Minute of silence was observed in memory of those who died in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945.

Parade units of the Russian army and armies of a number of countries march in front of the tribunes. Among them is the Honor Guard Battalion of the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan.

At the end of the festive parade, according to the established good tradition, the heads of state who arrived in Moscow for the celebrations on the occasion of the glorious date, proceeded to the Alexander Garden, located near the Kremlin wall, where they took part in the ceremony of laying flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

To the sounds of mournful music, the distinguished guests walk to the memorial complex. Before them follow servicemen with a wreath.

Minute of silence is declared and the National Anthem of the Russian Federation is played.

Paying tribute to the memory and respect of the heroes who stood up to defend the peaceful life and freedom of all mankind and died in the battle against fascism on the fields of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov laid flowers at the Eternal Flame.

The soldiers of the Guard of Honor and units representing the branches of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation march in a ceremonial march in orderly rows in front of the memorial.

Then a joint photo session of the heads of delegations took place.

After the completion of the ceremonial events in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov proceeded to Vnukovo-2 International Airport, from where he departed for his homeland.
