Ambassador of Spain presented copies of credentials to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan
On March 4, 2025, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, as part of a working visit of a representative delegation of Spanish business circles to Turkmenistan, a meeting was held between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Gurbanov and the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain to Turkmenistan (with residence in Moscow) Ricardo Martinez Vazquez, who presented copies of his credentials.
A. Gurbanov congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment to a responsible post and expressed the readiness of the Turkmen side to provide assistance and support in the implementation of his diplomatic activities.
The diplomats discussed the current agenda of bilateral cooperation, and also exchanged views on the prospects for further interaction between Turkmenistan and Spain both in a bilateral format and within the framework of international structures.
The parties noted the importance of intensifying partnership in a number of priority areas, such as agriculture and water management, transport and logistics, as well as cultural and humanitarian cooperation in the framework of educational programs and the study of the Spanish language.
At the end of the meeting, the Plenipotentiary Representative of Spain assured that he would make every effort to develop bilateral relations.
As part of the visit, the Spanish delegation is scheduled to meet with the leadership of about 10 ministries and departments of Turkmenistan. The delegation included representatives of 18 Spanish companies, such as Ibertest, Nobargi, Talgo, Sercobe, INDRA, AGRAGEX, Teltronic and others.
