Delegation of Turkmenistan participated in the Third Caspian Economic Forum

On February 17-18, 2025, the delegation of Turkmenistan headed by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers H. Geldimyradov took part in the Third Caspian Economic Forum held in Tehran.
During the event, six thematic sessions took place, during which the representatives of Caspian littoral states discussed the wide range of issues for further development of five-sided collaboration.
The agenda of the plenary session of the economic forum included such key issues as cooperation in trade and economic sphere in the Caspian region, prospects of partnership in the field of transport infrastructure, energy, protection of marine environment of the Caspian Sea and others.
In his speech, H. Geldimyradov proposed to consider the possibility of developing joint logistical centers and platforms, emphasizing the importance of the projects of the North-South transport corridor along the eastern coast of the Caspian Sea with further access to Iran and further to the seaports of the Indian Ocean and the Trans-Caspian international transport route.
The head of the delegation of Turkmenistan also drew attention of the participants to the importance of the initiatives of Turkmenistan on the creation of the Global Atlas of Sustainable Transport Connectivity and the Alliance for Global Energy Security and Sustainable Development, as well as on the development of the Global Framework Programme for Transition to Circular Economy.
Various thematic events were organized on the margins of the forum, which allowed representatives of specialized agencies of the Caspian littoral countries to exchange views on present issues of regional economic development.
The participants expressed their assuredness that the agreements reached at the forum will promote economic integration of the region and strengthen the role of the Caspian Sea as a strategic center of international trade.
Following the plenary session, the heads of delegations adopted the Joint Communiqué of the Third Caspian Economic Forum.
In the framework the Forum, the delegation of Turkmenistan was received by the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian, as well as by the First Vice-President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Reza Aref.
