Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Central Asian countries discussed the key vectors of cooperation

On November 15-16, 2019, according to the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R.Meredov was on the visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan to attend the meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Central Asian countries.

During the meeting in Tashkent, the heads of external policy agencies of the Central Asia countries discussed the key aspects of cooperation in political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres. The main components of the international agenda were touched upon which included the energy and transport security, enhancement of the investment climate, protection of ecology.

The parties considered the opportunities of expanding strategic partnership for maintaining economic growth, stability and security in the region. The issues related to the preparation to the upcoming consultative meeting of the Heads of Central Asian states were regarded in detail.    

During his speech, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan noted the significance of coordinated collaboration between the Central Asian countries based on the principles of brotherhood, good-neighborliness and mutual respect, as well as underlined the importance of geopolitical, economic and transport-logistical potential of the given region.

The parties agreed to continue the joint work aimed at the overall development of the region which directly affects the progress of the whole Eurasian continent.
