Meeting of the President of Turkmenistan with the US Senator
On November 25, 2024, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the US Senator from Montana, member of the US Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources Steve Daines.
Expressing sincere gratitude to the head of state for the time devoted to the meeting, the guest emphasized that the United States attaches great importance to the development of mutually beneficial cooperation with neutral Turkmenistan.
After warmly welcoming Steve Daines, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed his strong belief that the upcoming talks during the visit of the guest will present an opportunity to exchange of views on the prospects for expanding interstate partnership.
Touching upon the issues of political and diplomatic relations, the parties noted that in recent years, the political dialogue between the two countries has become active. This provides an opportunity for an effective exchange of views on such issues of global agenda as sustainable development, security and climate change.
The topic of discussion was also the trade and economic sphere, which is among the main vectors of interaction between the countries. For many years, fruitful cooperation has been continuing with the largest American companies taking place in the implementation of important projects in Turkmenistan. In this context, the great contribution of the «Turkmenistan–USA» Business Council to this process was noted.
As the head of state emphasized, Turkmenistan is implementing a strategy for diversifying energy export routes. At the same time, it was noted that Turkmenistan stands for the development of partnership taking into account the interests of producers, consumers and transit countries.
During the exchange of views on priority areas of collaboration, the presence of vast opportunities for the development of bilateral cooperation was noted.
At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the US Senator from Montana, member of the US Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources Steve Daines exchanged best wishes.
