Turkmenistan renders humanitarian assistance to foreign citizens arriving from Iran

In view of the current situation in the Middle East, Turkmenistan is taking immediate measures to provide its territory for the departure of foreign diplomats and their family members, as well as other citizens currently present in Iran.
As of today, about 120 people from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Romania and other countries have crossed the state border of Turkmenistan through checkpoints.
The people who have arrives were provided with transport, food, accommodation and basic necessities.
In the framework of its humanitarian mission, the relevant state agencies of Turkmenistan closely cooperate with the diplomatic missions of foreign states and international organizations.
In this context, Turkmenistan confirms in practice its commitment to the principles of humanity, international cooperation and good-neighbourliness, which is particularly relevant in the International Year of Peace and Trust, declared by the United Nations General Assembly upon the initiative of Turkmenistan.
