A working meeting was held on the international transit and transport route "Caspian Sea - Black Sea"
On February 10, 2025, a four-party working meeting was held in the format of a video conference to discuss the draft intergovernmental Agreement on the establishment and implementation of the international transit and transport route "Caspian Sea - Black Sea".
The meeting was attended by heads and representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, and other ministries and departments of Turkmenistan, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Romania responsible for the transport sector.
During the meeting, issues related to increasing cargo transportation and stimulating cooperation with all interested parties, including the European Union, were discussed.
The parties noted the expected positive effect in trade relations of all project participants, as well as the importance of involving international organizations in the field of cargo transportation to connect European and Asian markets.
In order to improve the quality of transport services, the parties also discussed the possibility of using digital technologies.
At the end of the meeting, the participants expressed their confidence that the quadripartite intergovernmental Agreement on the establishment and implementation of the international transit and transport route "Caspian Sea - Black Sea", the signing of which is planned for this year, will make a significant contribution to the development of international freight transport between Central Asia and Europe.
